Each moment that passes changes you.
You do not, cannot possess even yourself.
How can you hope to possess anyone or anything else?

(The Silent Flute)

Changing tastes

One side-effect of meditation, stillness and inner peace is that your tastes will change.

There are many movies that depict cruelty, suffering and pain.
If you have opened your heart to the world around you, these films will no longer seem appealing.
Our world sees enough pain already. Why fictionalise suffering?

You may find yourself drawn to something imaginative (like a Studio Ghibli film) rather than the latest gangster movie.

Inspired

As your consciousness changes, you may experience a desire for inspirational stimuli.
Sadly, there are not many books or films that inspire.
So much in our culture is re-hashed, unimaginative and forgettable.

But there are a few original/creative pieces available. You just have to look for them.

Psychological pollution

Consider: why was a movie made? Does it teach you anything? What is its meaning/message?

These questions are important.

If you watch a film about a serial killer, your sleep may well be affected. You may become paranoid and jumpy afterwards.
This is not healthy.
