Rachel requires every teaching assistant to work together to provide holiday cover when she is away:

• Putting up class poster on outside door
• Tidying the room/sweeping the floor
• Putting up class notices within hall; for registration, lower grades
• Putting up decorative posters in class
• Organising the chairs
• Register & pens
• Music
• Taking fees from new inductees
• Recording fees
• Induction course
• Opening bow
• Organising qigong
• Leading form
• Partner work
• Cool down
• Final bow
• Taking down class notices within hall; for registration, lower grades
• Tidying the room
• Checking the hall
• Putting out the lights
• Locking the hall

This is a major responsibility with limited latitude for error. You will have plenty of help but still be required to manage the situation carefully and effectively.

Sifu Waller was very friendly at the start but I have noticed he has become a little more serious as the required skills have increased. As a teacher I am continually impressed with his teaching system, resources and the time he takes with classes. I often feel like emailing him to thank him for another outstanding lesson but a) this could happen most weeks and b) I do actually feel guilty for not being a good enough student.
