Pillow book

In ancient Japan it was customary to have a 'pillow book' - this was a journal of musings and insights - a diary of sorts.
As with haiku or Zen koan, the object of the poetry was to glimpse reality in a fashion that reflected an understanding and empathy with the Tao.
